Vintage Cowboy Boots

Cowboy boots have been around a long time, and with them they bring a tremendous fashion statement. Vintage cowboy boots are becoming increasingly harder to find, and as such typically come with a very high price tag, ranging anywhere from a few hundred dollars a pair, to a few thousand dollars a pair. Vintage cowboy boots are very stylish, and many people love to wear them including men, women, and children. Sometimes, collectors will look for the boots, to have them for the sake of having them, while others will seek them to wear.

Finding Vintage Cowboy Boots

There are some important things to keep in mind while you are searching for the perfect pair. There are several places where these boots are sold, but you need to be sure the merchant is one you can trust, especially when purchases are made online. If you are not buying online, finding the boots in traditional stores may be a challenging undertaking, depending on where you live. Cowboy boots are most likely to be found in Southwestern states such as Texas and Oklahoma. This doesn't mean you won't be able to find them in other places, but you should be prepared to look a bit harder.

Choosing the Right Pair

Choosing the right pair will depend greatly on whether or not you intend to wear the boots. If you want to wear them, obviously you will need to look for a pair in your size, or the size of the person who will be wearing them. If you want them for collection purposes, then size will not matter, but you will want to know more about the time period of the boot and if there is any story attached to the boot. The age and history of the boot will determine how much you will have to pay for the pair. Choosing the pair based not only on price, but condition and overall appearance. If they look damaged or worn, they shouldn't be as expensive as those that look brand new. Also consider whether or not the boots are handmade, as handmade boots are more unique and took longer to make, you can expect to pay more for them.

Do Your Research

Don't rush right into the buying process. If you're new to the vintage cowboy boot world, you will want to make sure you know what you looking for and how to negotiate with vendors to get what you want. While most vendors will provide an honest price and background on the boots, there are some out there that can't be trusted, so it is very important to know what you are getting into before you step into a shop ready to make a purchase.
